Bhagyashree Deshmukh
Postdoctoral Scholar | bhagyashreedhanaji.deshmukh2@seattlechildrens.org
Bhagyashree did her PhD in molecular parasitology at IISER Pune, where she worked on building multi-protein chimeric antigens targeting the blood stage of Plasmodium falciparum. She moved to Seattle in 2024 for her postdoc, and — still obsessed with malaria vaccine— she's now hunting for transmission-blocking vaccine targets in the sexual stages of P. falciparum.
Outside the lab, you'll find her tackling escape-room puzzles, trying out new cuisines, kayaking, or curled up with a good book and a cup of tea.
