Sophia is currently an undergraduate student at the University of Washington, studying Public Health with a focus on Global Health. She is interested in human health both at the level of cell biology and at a systemic societal level, and enjoys learning about how factors at each of these scales interact to influence our (collective) wellbeing.
In the Vaughan lab, Sophia helps keep the lab running smoothly by managing plasticware supplies, cleaning and monitoring equipment, and occasionally getting to set up a PCR or run an agarose gel!
In her free time, she loves going outdoors! Usually that's by running, and she also likes to hike, bike, backpack, and ski.
